How do I get to Chemnitz by train?

Travel by train to Chemnitz Hbf (Chemnitz Central Station). From there, the University Library is approximately a five-minute walk away. We recommend checking the latest connection to Chemnitz Hbf via Deutsche Bahn or the DB Navigator before travelling.

Which airport is best for travelling to Chemnitz?

For international guests, Dresden Airport (DRS) and Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) are convenient options. Depending on your flight connection, Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) may also be a suitable alternative.

A visitor car park is available at the venue; however, parking spaces are very limited and cannot be guaranteed. We therefore recommend allowing additional time for parking and using public car parks or other parking facilities in the surrounding area if necessary.

How do I get to Chemnitz from abroad?

For international travellers, we recommend flight connections to Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). From Berlin Brandenburg Airport, you can travel by train towards Leipzig Hbf and continue to Chemnitz Hbf. We recommend planning and booking your train journey via Deutsche Bahn and checking the latest timetable shortly before travelling, as schedules may be affected by timetable changes or construction work. Travel tip: When searching for your final destination, enter Chemnitz Hbf (Chemnitz Central Station).

How do I get from Chemnitz Central Station to the event venue?

The event venue is the University Library at Straße der Nationen 33, located behind the bus terminal. It is a five-minute walk from Chemnitz Central Station.

We have reserved a room contingent at the B&B Hotel Chemnitz. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of the evening event venue.

Are there alternative hotels in Chemnitz?

Yes. If the B&B Hotel Chemnitz does not suit your travel plans or the room contingent is no longer available, there are several alternative accommodation options in and around Chemnitz city centre. These include the Hotel Chemnitzer Hof near Theaterplatz and the Super 8 by Wyndham Chemnitz, located directly next to the smac. We recommend booking early and choosing the option that works best for your stay.

What language will the event be held in?

The event language is English. Presentations, programme sessions and workshops will be held in English to enable exchange across our international UWB community.

What is included in my ticket?

Your ticket includes access to the UWB in Action programme, presentations and interactive workshop sessions, as well as the networking programme throughout the day. Lunch, refreshments and the evening networking programme are included.

Can I transfer my ticket to a colleague?

Yes. We understand that plans can change. If you are unable to attend, your ticket may be transferred to a colleague or another participant. Please contact us in advance and share the new participant's details so that we can update the registration.
